76TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

15th August 2022, Sunshine High School, Naya Bazar, Kurseong celebrated India's 76th Independence Day (75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav). The program started with the hostess of the program Miss Oma Lama welcoming our honorable director Sir Kamal Kumar Agarwal. In the first session of the programme, the national flag 'Tiranga' was hoisted by our honourable director Sir Kamal Agarwal, after which the national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana' was sung. All the students, teachers and parents present sang the national anthem with pride and patriotism. After the national anthem, class V sang Hindi patriotic song, class IV Nepali patriotic song and class VI sang Bengali patriotic song to commemorate the sacrifices and Love towards nation of our freedom fighters.

In the next session of the program, Sir Agarwal gave a brief speech on the 75th Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav and spoke about how bravely all the freedom fighters fought for the freedom of India and how ruthless the British rule was. After Sir Agarwal's speech, the students of the school mesmerized all the audience by a patriotic dance. 

All the students sang the school song under the direction of Sir Binam Singh, the music teacher of the school. After the school song, Miss Sradha Pradhan, Principal of Sunshine High School gave a speech on “How this is the 76th Independence Day of India and the 75th Independence Anniversary Celebration of the country.” The program concluded with the thanks giving ceremony by Mrs Sradha Pradhan, Principal of the school. 

A group of 64 Students (Girls: 32 & Boys: 32) from the senior section along with 6 teachers were also sent to the Kurseong Monteviot Ground to participate in the march-past organized by Kurseong Municipality.
